Here's why this Khloe Kardashian selfie has sparked uproar

Oh, Khloe.

UH-OH.

Khloe Kardashian is currently spending time in Dubai and yesterday, she posted this selfie of herself wearing a niqab.

The photo was captioned “Habibi love,” meaning “my baby” in Arabic. (Although some have speculated that she got confused and meant to say “hijab”.)

The selfie sparked uproar on Twitter with many accusing the reality star of cultural appropriation and pointing out the inherent double standards.

Some fans, however, have defended the star and stated that it wasn’t her intent to be offensive or disrespectful.

For her part, Khloe has yet to explain or apologise for the selfie.

This is not the first time she has found herself at the centre of controversy–last year, she came under fire when she posed in a Native American headdress.
